Maarten Kuipers

Author & EPR specialist

Maarten Kuipers is an author and EPR specialist at ClearoSystems, writing about Dutch producer responsibility: packaging, electronics and batteries.

About Maarten

Maarten did not start out in regulation. He started in operations. He spent years at an importer of household electronics and later as supply chain manager at a webshop moving tens of thousands of parcels a year. The files nobody else wanted landed on his desk: the producer registration for electronics, the packaging records, the question of whether a batch of imported batteries fell under the rules.

What began as a chore became his trade. The more often he worked it out, the clearer it became that almost every product business has the same questions and finds no readable answer anywhere. That is why he joined ClearoSystems, where he translates the Dutch producer responsibility rules into language a business owner can act on, as author and EPR specialist.

He writes about the four Dutch EPR regimes (packaging, electronics, batteries and textiles) and about the questions that come with them in practice: who has to register, what is changing in the rules and what that means for a company putting products on the Dutch market.
