See what makes ClearoSystems different from other EPR compliance providers
Several EPR providers now offer an online check. That has not made the choice easier, because those checks differ sharply in what you end up knowing. The question is therefore not “who has a digital check?”, but: what do you know after it that you did not know before — and can you act on it straight away? One check gives an orientation (EPR may be relevant to you), another establishes per country that you are liable, and a third route only begins at a call, a quote or a checkout. This overview sets seven providers side by side on six questions a product business asks before it buys: where you start, what that first step gives you, what it costs to find out, what the service is built for, who executes it afterwards and how far the coverage reaches. ClearoSystems sets the bar at the result: establishing what you concretely have to do, and showing the risks you run if you do not. This is not an independent ranking, it is our own market overview.
WHY THE RESULT IS WHAT COUNTS
Not who has a check, but what you know after it
A licence shop generally expects you to know which contract you need. A consultancy works that out in meetings, and usually for manufacturers across the board. And several providers now offer a free online check — but those differ sharply in what you end up knowing: from a first orientation to the finding that you are liable in a given country. ClearoSystems sets the bar at the result, and it is built for one group in particular: e-commerce and digital export businesses. Your own webshop, a marketplace and selling into another country are the starting point, so your own combination of role, product, channel and target country is worked through separately — down to what you concretely have to do, and the risks you run if that does not happen. From there the same route keeps everything together: from an obligations profile per target country to quote, contract and execution, including later changes.

Starting point. Look at whether you can find out for yourself what applies to you, or whether you first have to call, fill in a form or check out. Four of the seven open with a free check - ecosistant, Interzero, Lizenzero and ourselves (our needs analysis launches soon). With take-e-way and AVASK you start with a contact form; Landbell has a store or a contact route. That a provider has a digital check says little in itself - it is the entry, not the result.
What you get. This is where the providers diverge most, and it is the point that matters most. ecosistant's quick check gives an orientation: EPR may be relevant to you, and a robust judgement needs a more far-reaching analysis - ecosistant says so itself. Interzero's general compliance check qualifies your situation and returns a report at a general level; the deeper route then splits per obligation area, with packaging through the Lizenzero obligation check, electronics through a cost estimate and batteries through a quote process. Lizenzero goes furthest: detailed, country-specific questions, and a result that establishes per country that you are liable for packaging. There too it stops at that finding - which registration is needed, whether an authorised representative has to be appointed and which steps follow is not systematically worked out. With take-e-way the route starts at a quote and with AVASK at a call; with Landbell the assessment sits inside the CGlobal programme. We set the bar at what comes after that: establishing what you concretely have to do in your situation and in your target countries.
Risks. Knowing that you are liable and knowing what happens if you do nothing are two different things. Of the checks we ran, none made the consequences of non-compliance visible in its result, and the other providers' own pages say nothing about it. So we leave that cell at "not stated" rather than turning it into a "no". In our obligations profile the risk picture per target country is part of the result.
Cost to find out. Note that this is different from what execution costs. A provider can have published licence prices and a free check at the same time; another can offer a free call and then only a quote. With Landbell no page states what the first step costs, and we leave that empty here rather than turn it into an assumption.
What it is built for. Here too, "digital" or "e-commerce" is no differentiator in itself: several parties address online sellers. ecosistant and AVASK do so as we do; Interzero and Landbell serve manufacturers across the board and explicitly also online and marketplace sellers; take-e-way grew out of electronics, batteries and packaging and today covers further product categories; Lizenzero's check looks at packaging. The difference lies in how finely your own situation is assessed: our analysis (launching soon) works through the combination of role, product, sales channel and target country separately - 54 modelled starting situations across the three regimes the analysis asks about (packaging, WEEE and batteries) and twenty-eight countries - instead of collapsing into one general answer.
Execution afterwards. Nearly everyone here carries out registration, reporting and representation; for most of them it is the core product. The distinction lies in the depth per market and in which service tier it sits. With us the same route runs on in full - report, quote, contract and execution by our own specialists, with the quote and contract drawn up personally today and the automated step from profile to contract in preparation - or you export the result and take it elsewhere.
Reach. Landbell names fifty-nine countries, and take-e-way, Lizenzero, Interzero and ecosistant each state coverage of thirty or more; we analyse twenty-eight - the EU-27 plus Switzerland - and AVASK currently lists ten European countries on its EPR overview. If you want very broad international coverage carried out by one party, the established pan-European groups have more execution capacity across that breadth than we do.
C
ClearoSystemsProfile
Digital EPR needs analysis built for e-commerce and digital export businesses, launching soon: the guided analysis works through your own combination of role, product, sales channel and target country and establishes what you concretely have to do per target country — which registration, whether an authorised representative is required, which additional duties such as marking — and the risks you run if that does not happen. If you would rather hand it over, our own specialists take over registration, reporting and representation.
- Starting pointThe digital needs analysis, launching shortly after this website, assesses your role, products, sales channels and target countries - the questions a webshop selling across borders actually faces.
- What you getPer target country you see what you concretely have to do: which registration duties apply, whether an authorised representative is required and which additional duties there are, such as marking — and the risks you run if that does not happen. The preview is on screen straight away; the full report reaches you by e-mail or as an export.
- Cost to find outThe analysis and the obligations profile cost nothing; the service that follows is paid.
- What it is built forBuilt for webshops, marketplace sellers and export businesses: role, product, sales channel and target country are the inputs, and every combination of them is worked through separately.
- Execution afterwardsEither the route runs on in full - report, quote, contract and execution by our own specialists - or you export the result and take it elsewhere.
- ReachWe serve 28 countries - the EU-27 plus Switzerland - and we keep adding to that number.
a free analysis, launching soon, that establishes what you concretely have to do and shows the risks you run if you do not
Pros
- The output says what you concretely have to do per target country: which registration, whether an authorised representative is required, which marking — not just that you are liable
- It also shows the risks you run if those steps are not taken
- Built for e-commerce and digital export businesses: your own webshop, a marketplace and cross-border selling are the starting point, not the exception
- Every individual situation assessed separately: 54 modelled starting situations across role, channel, buyer type and regime, over the three regimes the analysis asks about (packaging, WEEE and batteries) and twenty-eight countries
- Every relevant regime in one profile, not packaging alone
- If you want to hand it over, registration, reporting and representation are carried out by our own specialists
- Unclear cases go to a specialist rather than to an error message
Particularly suited to: E-commerce and export businesses that want to know what applies to their own situation before signing a licence or a contract

ecosistant
Digital EPR platform for online shops with coverage in up to 30 European countries. The starting point is a five-step online quick check. It gives a first orientation — whether EPR may be relevant to you — and ecosistant itself notes that a more far-reaching analysis is needed to establish what exactly has to happen; that analysis belongs to the service route afterwards. From there you choose between digital self-service, where you carry out the registrations yourself, and a Premium Service in which ecosistant takes over registration, reporting and communication with authorities in full.
- Starting pointA five-step questionnaire about your role, products and markets that ends in a request for your contact details; the result is released after a newsletter sign-up is confirmed.✓ verified
- What you getThe free check returns an orientation: afterwards you know whether EPR may be relevant to you, not which steps you have to take. For that, ecosistant points to a more far-reaching analysis; detailed digital guidance and per-country to-do lists belong to the paid service packages, and on self-service you carry out the registrations yourself.✓ verified
- Cost to find outThe form costs no money; the service packages that follow are paid.✓ verified
- What it is built forExplicitly aimed at online shops, with packages by company size. The free check is an orientation on whether EPR may be relevant to you; per-country detail belongs to the more far-reaching analysis inside the service.✓ verified
- Execution afterwardsThrough the Premium Service, ecosistant takes over registration, volume reporting and communication with authorities in full.✓ verified

Interzero
International compliance group with an EPR portal and more than 30 countries in its portfolio, serving manufacturers across the board and explicitly also online and marketplace sellers. There is a free compliance check, but no single continuous digital route across all obligation areas: the general check stays at a general level, and the deeper route then splits per area — packaging through the Lizenzero obligation check, electronics through a cost estimate, batteries through a quote process. The compliance report is sent to you once you leave your contact details; the individual determination of services and costs is a separate step. Support for registration and reporting follows, including authorised-representative activities.
- Starting pointA questionnaire on their own site; company name, your name, e-mail and telephone are mandatory fields before the report follows.✓ verified
- What you getThe free check qualifies your situation and returns a compliance report at a general level; which action is required in which specific target country is not worked out in it. The deeper route then runs per obligation area along different paths — packaging through the Lizenzero obligation check, electronics through a cost estimate, batteries through a quote process — and the individual determination of costs and services is a separate step.✓ verified
- Cost to find outThe compliance check is labelled free of charge on their services page.✓ verified

Lizenzero
Digital packaging compliance platform with two routes: a German VerpackG store and a pan-European service for 31 countries. Of every check in this overview, the cost-free Obligation Check asks the most detailed, country-specific questions. The result that follows stays more general: it establishes that you are liable for packaging in a country — or for a particular packaging category — sometimes naming the answer that finding rests on, but it does not systematically work out which registration is needed, whether an authorised representative has to be appointed and which steps follow from that; the notes on registration, reporting and representation read mainly as a description of the Lizenzero service. Further EPR areas such as WEEE and batteries are available through the Interzero group behind it.
- Starting pointA cost-free Obligation Check per target country, followed by a contact form.✓ verified
- What you getYou see straight away in which countries you are liable for packaging, sometimes with the answer that finding rests on. What concretely follows from it — which registration, whether an authorised representative is required, which steps come next — is not systematically worked out, and no risk picture for non-compliance is included. Other regimes fall outside the check.✓ verified
- Cost to find outThe check is free; the licence and the per-country service are not.✓ verified

How we evaluated
1. We identify EPR compliance providers relevant to product and e-commerce businesses selling in the Netherlands, Germany and other EU countries. 2. Per provider we collect facts on six dimensions: Starting point, What you get, Cost to find out, What it is built for, Execution afterwards and Reach. Every fact carries a source link, a verbatim quote from that page and a retrieval date. 3. The yardstick is the result, not the entry: what does a business know after that first step that it did not know before, and can it act on it straight away? That a provider has a digital check is no comparison criterion in itself. 4. We track the providers in this overview on a fixed cadence: we re-run their free checks and re-read their own pages. If what such a check returns changes, or what a provider publishes changes, we update this overview and the last-checked date moves with it. The next round is scheduled for 20 October 2026. 5. Every fact in this overview was re-fetched from the providers themselves in August 2026. Where a provider's own pages do not answer a dimension, we leave the cell empty with a dash rather than turning it into an assumption. 6. This overview comes from our own editorial team: we place ClearoSystems beside the alternatives and present no independent ranking. There is no rank order, no numbering and no 'best'.
- Starting point: do you begin with a self-test, or with a form, a call or a checkout?
- What you get: an obligations profile per target country, a to-do list, a cost overview, a quote or a call — and above all: do you then know what you concretely have to do?
- Risks: does the result show what happens if the required steps are not taken?
- Cost to find out: what that first step costs, separate from what execution costs later.
- What it is built for: is the service built for webshops and export businesses, and is your own combination of role, product, channel and target country assessed separately?
- Execution afterwards: does the provider carry out registration, reporting and representation itself?
- Reach: how many countries the provider covers.

This overview was compiled by the ClearoSystems editorial team. It is not an independent ranking: we are one of the providers in it, and there is no paid placement. We compare on the questions a product business asks before it buys - which is exactly where our own service is strongest. Where a broader partner is the better fit, we say so. Every fact about another provider is checked against a page on that provider's own site, with a source link and a retrieval date.
